Bureau

60 Port Street, Manchester. M1 2EQ

Bureau is a contemporary commercial gallery based in Manchester, and a partner in Contemporary Art Society’s North West Members Scheme.

Bureau works internationally with represented and invited artists at varying career stages to provide a platform and context for dynamic and innovative contemporary visual practice, and to premiere and commission new work across a variety of media and presentation formats, both on and off site.

The gallery programme is complemented by support for artists’ practice through international collaborations, exchange and residency projects, publishing initiatives, and participation in art fairs.

Bureau’s recent programme has included: a solo exhibition and residency in collaboration with Manchester Art Gallery for ‘Jerwood Drawing Prize 2009’ winner Mit Senoj; a solo show by Andy Holden following his hugely successful ‘Art Now’ project at Tate Britain; and an off-site project ‘The Economy of the Gift’ at A Foundation, Liverpool, with Mark Harasimowicz. Bureau will be participating in the art fair ‘The Manchester Contemporary’ in October 2010.

Bureau currently represents Jacob Cartwright, Dave Griffiths, Mark Harasimowicz, Tim Machin, Paul Needham, Vinca Petersen, Mit Senoj and Evangelia Spiliopoulou.
